151 ANSTRUTHER, Eleanor November 1937 - March 2014 Resident of Hamilton, Ontario. After a brief battle with cancer, Eleanor passed away peacefully at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton. She was one of three children born to the late Abe and Jean Zvonkin and was the beloved wife of Richard Raymond Trepanier. Eleanor will forever be remembered by her brothers Carl and Paul Zvonkin, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her. Retired employee of Ford Canada in Oakville and current owner of Hi Crown Cattery, breeders of Canadian and US Champion Registered British Shorthair cats, located in Hamilton, Ontario, Eleanor was extremely passionate about her work with British Shorthair cats. Eleanor touched the lives of many people with her sense of humor all the way to the end. As per Eleanor's wishes, cremation has taken place. 152 Archer, Robert "Robbie" Alan

Robert "Robbie" Archer, 46, died unexpectedly, Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan, Kan.

A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at 2 p.m., at the Flint Hills Community Church, in Cottonwood Falls, KS, with Pastor David Gass of the Cedar Point Community Church officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Grove Cemetery in rural Cottonwood Falls.

Robert Alan Archer, the son of Robert Andrew and Patricia Brown Archer, was born Feb. 25, 1961, at Strong City, KS.

He and Verna Rohloff were married Dec. 11, 1982, at Wilsey, KS.

He owned and operated the Chase County Body Shop and Wrecking Service in Strong City. He was a contracted AAA provider and a member of the National Cushman Club of America.

He is survived by his wife, Verna, of the home in Strong City; a son, Wesley Archer of Manhattan, Kan.; a daughter; Samantha Archer of the home; his mother, Patricia Crisp of Cottonwood Falls; two brothers, Mark Archer and Tony Archer both of Wichita; and a sister, Anita Cain of rural Cottonwood Falls. He was preceded in death by his father on Aug. 8, 1990.

Earl Kemp, 88, of Mitchell passed away peacefully at the Mitchell Nursing Home on Saturday, October 21, 2017.

Beloved husband of Vera Kemp. Dear father of Carolyn Bragg (Jim), Dianne Smale (Ken), Wendy Ridgway (Terry) and Clifford Kemp (Connie). Loving grandfather of twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Dear brother of Betty Vock-Cowell, Harold Kemp (Marg) and Shirley Zimmer (Laverne). Dear brother-in-law of Bill Cornish, Phyllis Kemp and Anne Kemp. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Clifford and Leone Kemp, brothers Dalton, Gordon (Jean) and George, sisters Evelyn Pridham (Ormand), Margaret Cornish and Fay Sager (Ernie), brothers-in-law Carl Vock and Cecil Cowell and sister-in-law Audrey Bilyea (Jim).

Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. 157 Arthur David Selves, Jr., Emporia, Kansas, passed away at Stormont-Vail Medical Center, Topeka, on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the age of 85.

Arthur "Art" Selves was born at Saffordville, Kansas on September 25, 1930, the son of Arthur David (Sr.) and Ruby Irene (Hulett) Selves. He married Doris Virginia Wessell June 7, 1953 at Emporia, Kansas. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2003. Doris died May 4, 2010.

Surviving members of the family include his three sons; David Selves, Emporia, Gary (Penny)Selves, Wichita, KS, and Michael (Cindy Hemmer) Selves, Papillion, NE, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, parents, and sister, Dody Peterson.

Art was a graduate of Toledo Township High School in Chase County, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. After returning from the service he worked for Montgomery Wards, Crofoot Ranch, and retired from Pepsi Cola after 20 years of service.

He was a member and past master of Emporia Masonic Lodge #12, A.F. & A.M. and Jomaria Chapter #378, Order of the Eastern Star, Saffordville. He was active with the Emporia Alzheimer�s Support Group, and a lifetime member of the Saint Mark�s Lutheran Church, Emporia.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the Saint Mark�s Lutheran Church. The service will be conducted by The Rev. Dinah Dutta, Ph.D. of the church. A masonic service will be held at the church. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Saffordville, Kansas with military honors conducted by Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion and Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

158 ARTHUR HUTCHINSON, farmer and Postmaster, Sec. 15, P. O., Pleasant Ridge. Born in Yorkshire, England, Aug.15,1841. With his parents he came to Quebec; he went to Centreville, Penn., the to Delaware, and in 1853, to Waukesha Co., Wis., farmed there; went to the Mississippi River, and arrived here in 1897; bought three forties, and commenced clearing. In 1864, lie enlisted in the 48th Wis. Vol.; mustered out in 1865, and came home. He married Miss Phebe A. Buss, of Buffalo, N. Y., in 1868. They have five children-Mary Jane, Florence E., Arthur H., Bertie A., and Alfred. He has held the offices of Assessor, Treasurer, and been Postmaster ever since he came to the section. 160 As a teenager, took a motor mechanic course in Toronto. Upon completion, operater a garage in Kirkton for many years. In 1943, he beacame the Kirkton postmaster and along with his wife, Elsie, operated the local post office until retiring in 1968. He provided rural mail service until 1976.

He was a director for the Blanshard Mutual Insurance Company from 1952 to 1977. He was a very active and influencial member of the Kirkton United Church. Continually lived in Kirkton until 1993 when they moved to the Kingsway Lodge in St. Marys. Maintained a large vegetable garden annually.

Bill and Dorothy moved to the Selves family farm in 1950 and engaged in farming and ranching with his father. In 1964, Bill and Dorothy bought the old Homer Evans farm on Buck Creek and moved there. Bill continued to farm until 1968 and then went to Belvidere, KS and worked as a foreman -- commuting home on weekends. They moved to Pratt, KS in 1972 and then to Belvidere, KS in 1975. Bill retired on January 1, 1984, then he & Dorothy moved back to Cottonwood Falls, KS

Selves, William H

William H. Selves, 86, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at his home in Cottonwood Falls. Mr. Selves was a farmer and rancher. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

The son of William B. and Emily Becker Selves, he was born Oct. 28, 1918, in rural Cottonwood Falls. He married Dorothy Rider on May 17, 1947, in Wichita. She died Aug. 19, 2000.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He also was a member of Zeredatha Lodge 80 in Cottonwood Falls.

He is survived by three daughters, Linda Byrd of Garden City, Cindy Barrett of Cimarron and Nancy Gordon of Portland, Ore.; three brothers, Jim Selves of Cottonwood Falls, Jack Selves of Kimball, Neb. and Dean Selves of Anaheim, Calif.; four sisters, Elaine Judd of Bazaar, Kate Burton of Missoula, MOntario, Anna Lucy Hailey of Corning, Calif. and Virginia Bush of Colton, Calif.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The service was Friday, June 3, in Prairie Grove Cemetery at Cottonwood Falls. Chaplain Phil Ingle conducted the service. Services were also conducted by the Fort Riley Color Guard and Zeredatha Lodge 80. Mr. Selves has been cremated.

188 Audrey Pearl Brisson died on 7 May 2001 in Victoria Genera Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, at age 74; AUDREY PEARL (BRISSON) DOUPE On May 7, 2001 Audrey passed away at Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg. Audrey was born September 3, 1926 at Virden, MB. She grew up on the family farm and took a course in L.P.N. After nursing for a few years, Audrey married Ben Doupe of Crandall, MB. She was a devoted wife. They enjoyed 44 years of married life living in several cities across Canada. (Ben worked with Income Securities). Ben passed away in 1999. In failing health, Audrey continued being a caring sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. Left to mourn her passing are sister Lois Stewart (Winnipeg) and family; sister-in-law Val Brisson (Virden) and family; brothers-in-law Harold Doupe (friend Yvette) (Winnipeg) and family; Ron and Noraleen Doupe (Marsden, SK) and family; Stan and Vel Doupe (Hamiota) and family; sister-in-law Marg and Dave Heise (Hamiota) and family. Mr. Shier ran a general stone in Bryanston for the past 20 years.
Surviving are his widow, the former Bernice Gollings, his mother, Mrs. Nellie Shier, and one sister, Mrs. M. Darden, of Los Angeles, Cal.in his 44th year. Resting at C. Charles H. Austin, 85, of San Diego, Calif., died Feb. 01, 2002. Mr. Austin was born March 31, 1916 at Cottonwood Falls to Fred J and Nora Ward Austin. He was a graduate of Chase County Community High School. He served in the Army during World War II and then worked for the California First Bank of San Diego for 35 hears. He was a member of San Diego Masonic Lodge #35 and Mission Beach Pyramid #56.

Survivors include his wife, Joannamae Gurney Austin; two sons, Rich Austin of Santee, Calif., and Mike Austin of Ramona, Calif.; one sister Aline Schmitt of Great Bend; one brother, Fred J. Austin Jr. of Topeka; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lorene Scott. Funeral services were held on Feb. 6 at the Greenwood Salli Lynn Chapel.

Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospice - London on Saturday, July 18th, 2015, at the age of 89. Jean had a patient way and a thoughtful presence. She will be fondly remembered for her keen mind, quick wit, generous soul and kind heart. Beloved wife of the late Leland Beavers (2008) for 60 years. Loving mother of Glenn and Jane, Janet and Doug Dynes, Paul and Jintana, and Suzanne and Blaine Kueneman. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Meghan Beavers Neville, Joshua Beavers, Matthew and Tanja Kueneman and Brittany Kueneman (Brad Jones). 200 BEAVERS, Warren - Peacefully with his family by his side, Warren Leonard Dale Beavers passed away on Tuesday December 12th, 2017 in his 85th year. Predeceased by his loving wife Jean (2017).
