With great sadness, we announce the passing of Evelyn Jewell Pridham in her 92nd year, at the Ritz Lutheran Villa, Mitchell, with family by her side, on Sunday February 21, 2016.

Evelyn was the oldest of ten children born to the late Clifford and Leone (Sidwell) Kemp in Fullarton Township. Evelyn married the late Ormond Pridham (2004) in 1945, and together raised four children on their family farm, until retiring to Mitchell in 1991. Evelyn and Ormond were active in their church and community, taking on many positions in Bethel Munro United Church, Thamesview United Church in Fullarton, and then the Main Street United Church in Mitchell. Evelyn took great interest in U.C.W. work and also in the Mitchell and District Agricultural Society "Women's Division". Evelyn enjoyed travelling with Ormond, helping with crafts at the Ritz Villa, participating in the Mitchell Fair (winning several prizes for her oil paintings), golfing, watching baseball (especially the Blue Jays) and in later years - lawn bowling, playing cards with many friends, all the activities that the Ritz Manor Outreach programs offered and visiting shut-ins at the Ritz Villa and other nearby nursing and retirement homes.

Her greatest enjoyment was family gatherings and having visits with her siblings, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She often said " I am 91 years old you know, and I have had a wonderful life".

Evelyn's kind and cheerful personality, the stories she could tell and her witty comebacks will be sadly missed by her children Sandra Norris and Jim McLafferty, Larry Pridham, and Audrey and Don Bissonnette, and ten grandchildren Cathy Norris and Kent Sweetman, Carrie Elsdon, Chris and Karen Elsdon, Chrystal Elsdon, Cindy and Dale Johnston, Angie Pridham, Sally and Rob Pittaway, Mike Dunlop and Taryn Roach, Dan Dunlop and Amanda Rose, Steve and Emily Dunlop, and 21 great grandchildren.

Lovingly remembered by sisters Betty Cowell and Shirley (Laverne) Zimmer, and brothers Earl (Vera) Kemp and Harold (Marg) Kemp, also sisters-in-law Phyllis Kemp and Anne Kemp, and brothers-in-law Bill Cornish and Bill Gatenby. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was predeceased by daughter Judy Elsdon(2011), and siblings Dalton Kemp, Gordon Kemp, and George Kemp, Faye Sager, and Marg Cornish, also in-laws Jean Kemp, Ernie Sager, Carl Vock, Cecil Cowell, Allan and Dorothy Pridham, Donna Gatenby, and Tom and Donna Pridham.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Ritz Villa and Dr. Kenyon for their support and care of our dear sweet Mom.

Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Wednesday, February 24 from 6-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Spring interment in Woodland Cemetery, Mitchell.
