- Robert Stuart Lamond, born on October 5th, 1916 in Blanshard Township, a resident of Kingsway Lodge, St. Marys, passed away on February 5th, 2010 in his 94th year.
He was one of ten children of the late Edna Merle (nee Clipperton) and Alexander N. Lamond. He farmed at Cherry Grove, R.R. #3 Thorndale from 1951 until 2001. Bob enjoyed his family, his trips with his wife, his garden, a good game of euchre, visiting with all people, playing his harmonica, riding his bicycle and motorcycles and cross-country skiing. He just loved life; he rode his bicycle and skied until he was eighty years old.
Robert was predeceased by his loving wife, Doris May King on July 25th, 1995. He will be sadly missed by his children Roberta and Steven Mack of Calgary, James and Diane of St. Marys, Carman and Carol of London and Robert and Ruth of St. Marys. Grandchildren Deborah, Michael, Cedric, Graham, Cherie and great- grandchildren Shaun and Allison. He is also survived by his sister Grace Delaney and sisters-in-law Merle Lamond and Joyce Nethercott, brothers-in-law Don Hunt of London and Lewis Pelton of Embro and many nieces and nephews.
Aside from his parents and wife, Robert was also predeceased by his brothers Duncan, Jack, George, Norm, Richard and his sisters Margaret Elgie, Ann Hunt and Jean Chamney, brothers-in-law Bill Elgie, Graham Chamney, Michael Delaney, George Carr, Ken Pickle, Lloyd Nethercott, Jack Metters, sisters-in-law Louise, Barb, Ruby, Grace, Ina and Marjorie.
As per Bobs wishes there will be no funeral visitation. A celebration of Bobs life will be held at a later date.
