A child's curiosity ... that is how it all began.

This project started about 30 (or was it 50) years ago as an effort to illustrate relationships in one child's world. Over the years, newspaper clippings, letters, and all forms of hand-written notes found their way to the pending file. Bit by bit and as time and motivation permitted, it evolved.

The uniqueness of our name made the task easier. If the name was "Selves", then it must be one of us. The trip of discovery takes you into the unknown -- and in all directions -- and at the same time. What started out as a Selves Family Tree developed into the trees of Hazlewood, Kirk, Shier, Doupe, and others. There is no end -- just like traveling to the horizon. It will forever be a journey.
